Last season, Clark-Atlanta stumbled to a 9-16 overall record. Winning only four games in regular season SIAC conference play. Despite this, the Lady Panthers are confident the hiring of Coach Yolanda Moore will help the team rebound from their disappointing year. Clark-Atlanta Athletic Director, J. Lin Dawson, shared his excitment over the hiring at Moore’s introductory press conference.
“She (Yolanda Moore) is the missing ingredient to build champions on and off the court….She will build upon the exciting brand of basketball that Clark-Atlanta is known for.” – J. Lin Dawson
During her playing career Yolanda Moore was a two time WNBA champion, named first-team All-SEC twice, an inducted into the Ole Miss Sports Hall of Fame. Her most successful stint as a coach came with LSU-Euince where she went 26-3 in route to a conference championship.
Moore inherits two All-SIAC Conference players in guard Marissa Mandeldove (16.4 PPG) and forward Lauren Taylor (12.9 PPG). Panther fans hope a combination of Moore’s playing experience and previous coaching experience produce a winning formula on the court next season.
