Netflix recently announced the Season 2 release date of their popular docuseries “Last Chance U”. The show is based around Coach Buddy Stevens and the East Mississippi Community College (EMCC) football progam.
Netflix describes the show as a “docuseries set at one of NCAA football’s most fertile recruiting grounds where guys with red flags seek to prove their worth on the field and in the classroom. “
Coach Stevens is known for transforming these so called “guys with red flags” into champions on the JUCO level. In fact, nine of his former players have made it to the NFL.
Season 2 of “Last Chance U” is set set to air on July 21st and will focus on the 2016 EMCC football season. Featured on this season will be Grambling State commit Rodney Jackson. While at EMCC the 6-2, 290 pound defensive lineman recorded 30 tackles an 1 sack.
It is unclear exactly what role Rodney Jackson will play on the show; however he was mentioned on the official “Last Chance U” Twitter page.
At Grambling, Jackson will compete for a spot on a Tiger defense that ranked fifth nationally in scoring defense and 21st in total defense last year.
