  • Tuskegee 7-2 overall, (5-0 conference)
  • Miles 6-3 overall, (4-1 conference)

Postseason play has yet begin, but Saturday’s game will most certainly have a playoff feel. Both teams know exactly what is at stake. A win clinches the SIAC West Division title and secures a spot in the SIAC championship game. Miles or Tuskegee must win the rest of their games to keep their NCAA Division II Playoff hopes alive.  The rivalry between these two schools has intensified in recent years despite Tuskegee leading the all-time series 47-14. No team has one back to back games in this series since 2012.

A lot has changed since Tuskegee’s 61-0 loss to Findlay. Since that humiliating defeat, the Golden Tigers have won five games in a row. The offense has been rolling during this streak, averaging 31 points per game. The defense has been led by senior linebacker, Osband Thompson. Coming into the game, Thompson leads the nation with 112 tackles this season. He has 34 more tackles than the the second leading tackler in the SIAC! Expect an inspired performance from Thompson and the rest of Tuskegee’s senior class as this game will be their final home game.

The Golden Bears enter today’s game ranked 8th the NCAA Division II Super Region 2 rankings. In addition, they are currently on a four game winning streak. The Golden Bears have dominated teams on the ground all season long. They are the top ranked rushing offense in the SIAC, averaging 210 yards per game.  Their rushing attack is lead by running back, Justin Hardy. Hardy is the only player in the SIAC with over 1,000 yards rushing this season.

How to Watch

The game will be broadcast on ESPN 3. Coverage begins at 1pm central time.
