Earlier this week, Shakyla Hill became the fourth woman in NCAA Division I women’s basketball to record a quadruple double. The junior guard from Little Rock, Arkansas tallied 15 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals. Hill’s historic effort helped lead the Lady Tigers to a 93-71 victory over the Alabama State Hornets.
News of Shakyla’s night quickly went viral on social media. As a result, Shakyla Hill was invited to appear on ESPN’s “SC 6” hosted by Michael Smith and Jemele Hill.
Hill received social media praise from NBA stars such as James Harden and Chris Paul on Twitter. Hill was grateful for all of this attention; however she also mentioned wanting to hear some love from LeBron James.
Yesterday, the 3-time NBA champion did not disappoint. He shouted out Shakyla in a post-practice interview below:
James went on to say:
“Me and Swish (J.R. Smith) was like ‘holy sh–, that’s impressive,'” James said Saturday. “It doesn’t matter what level you at, what type of league you in, male or female, you able to get a quadruple double in any facet, obviously not with turnovers. She did it with steals.
“Did you see her stat line at halftime? She had like four points, three rebounds, three steals, three assists. Like, and she went off in the second half, so big congratulations to her for sure.”
