Movin On Up: Morehouse Basketball Jumps Five Spots in National Poll

Atlanta, Georgia- The Morehouse Men’s Basketball team continues their rapid rise up the polls.  The Maroon Tigers jumped up five spots and are ranked #20 in the nation according to the latest edition of the NABC National NCAA Division II Coaches poll.

Top 20

Currently, the Maroon Tigers are sitting on top of the SIAC Conference with a 13-0 record.  The Tigers have a high-powered balanced scoring attack which features four players averaging double figures in points per game. Atlanta native, Tyrius Walker leads the team in scoring with 21.3 points per game and has shot an impressive 41.8% from 3-point range.

So far, the Maroon Tigers have dominated their SIAC competition. In seven games against SIAC opponents, the Maroon Tiger’s average margin of victory is 20 points! On January 13th, Morehouse will travel to Fort Valley as they look to keep their win streak alive against the Wildcats.  Their next home game will be January 20th against Claflin University.
