Durham, NC | According to Verbal Commits, Bronny James has just received a scholarship offer from North Carolina Central University.
Bronny has received an unprecedented amount of media attention due to being the oldest son of LeBron James. He is currently a 15 year old freshman at Sierra Canyon High School, but that hasn’t stopped ESPN from agreeing to nationally broadcast 15 Sierra Canyon games this year.
On the court, the 6’2, 165 pound guard has shown flashes of athleticism, three-point shooting, and playmaking ability.
Make no mistake, North Carolina Central will be a long shot to sign Bronny James. Currently Bronny has also received scholarship offers from both Kentucky and Duke.
However; that’s not to suggest that North Carolina Central would be a bad home for the budding superstar. The NCCU Eagles have been to the NCAA tournament for two consecutive seasons.
In addition, NCCU Coach Levelle Moton has experience coaching elite prospects and has spent the last two summers as an assistant coach for Team USA’s U19 Men’s Basketball team.
It’s far too soon to speculate where Bronny James will end up. For now, we’ll just have to salute North Carolina Central for getting into the race early.
